Fall 2008 Sneak Peak

We're a few weeks off from our Fall 2008 goods hitting the shelves, but here's a little sneak peak for you.  Lots of argyle, cable knits, and prints plus two new styles that are water resistant -- the Tatum rainboot and the dressy Dorian with detachable fringe cover.

Apparel comes out too a little bit later in August!  We're so stoked about our new line, we hope you feel it like we feel it.

Jersey Shore to Barcelona

Down at the Jersey shore in a perfect backyard wedding, rain and all, our two friends Kerri Koch and Isaac Ramos (yes, that's who the shoe's named after) got married in front of that rad backdrop made by long time homey Steve Keene.  It was one of the best weddings I've ever been to and there were tons of people to catch up with including Hatch, Justin, Clay, Carlo, Betsy, Ian and Kate, Abby, and more. Luis and Bobby made it out from the sweltering depths of AZ.  Jill, namesake of the Nuss, and Paul were chillin'. Come to think of it, Tobin, of course, was there too, snapping away and representing -- making three people who have inspired us enough to name a shoe after them, all there in one spot.  Plus, it was so rad to see Steve and Star again.  They used to come to all the festivals I booked in college and install big backdrops Steve created for the show, bring Steve's paintings for sale,  hang out and bliss out.  I love them.  They are so amazing and seeing Flora and Minnie their kids all grown up and walking with attitude was a trip.  Steve has been called the Johnny Appleseed of the artworld and has painted album covers for some of the best including Pavement, Palace, Apples in Stereo and more.  Also got to spend some hang out time with Isaac's bro Bo, a next level dude, who I hadn't seen in years.

It was a real treat to see Julie Goodwin, her brood Mia and Sabine, and love in life Brantley.  Julie, Jerry and I could have had a Bib reunion, but do I really have the chops anymore?  In fact there could have been a lot of band reunions that night -- Your Father's Mustache, Castro (almost...we missed you Lucas!), Dogg and Pony.  Check out Julie's food blog and learn how to clean your cast iron skillet.   Kendra and Laris were there too.  Spend some quality time at the office pretending to work while checking out Kendra's new game she invented for the Discovery channel website.

Anyway so the wedding ruled.  It was like going back in time to a really wonderful golden era.

Bailey and I headed out to Barcelona after our brief jaunt on the East Coast.  It's trade show season and most of our European distributors will be in town.  We're going to breakfast together and get psyched on the new line in a ritual sales meeting.  Here's a sneak preview of Spring 09.  It's rad.  Six new styles, baby shoes, and more.  That's Thayer, Wendy and Nate, No Age, and Taryn (Todd and Sharon, our landlords', kid!)

We ate at Tapas 24 the second day we got to town and feasted.  Tapas 24 is one of Carles Albellan's spots.  It was unpretentious, mellow (we went in the afternoon), and delicious.  Our lunch consisted of: gazpatxo, eggplant lightly breaded and fried with honey and lime, sardines with roasted vegetables, patatas bravas (comfort food), arroz negro con sepia (black rice with squid ink, creamy, salty, delicious), and chocolate with sea salt and olive oil for desert (forgot to get a pic of the plate beforehand because it was so good).  Capped with a cafe con leche, I felt beyond satisfied.

More on Barcelona later.  This is getting to be too long of an entry.
